Thailand Offers Free COVID-19 Testing Service at Government Complex

The test center at the government complex will include antigen test kits (ATK) that can give results in 30 minutes.

The Department of Public Health has announced the opening of a new COVID-19 testing center, which will only operate on weekdays from Tuesday January 11 to January 21. The move comes amid an increase in coronavirus infections after the New Years holiday period.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul, the center will be located on the first floor of the parking lot of Building B of the government complex on Chaeng Watthana Road.

The service is jointly launched by the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the Faculty of Medical Technology at Mahidol University and Dhanarak Asset Development – a public company of the Ministry of Finance.

The health minister said the center will offer antigen test kits (ATK) that can give results in 30 minutes.

People who test positive will either enter the NHSO’s home and community isolation program or a hospital or field hospital. For those entering home or community isolation, patients with mild symptoms will be provided with meals, medical supplies and equipment.
